7-Day Desert and Culture tour from Marrakech

DAY 1  : MARRAKECH AIRPORT –  TRANSFER TO LOCAL HOTEL:

Merzouga Sahara Tours arranges individual 7-day desert and culture tours departing from Marrakech. We will meet you at the airport when your flight arrives. Then we'll transport you to your hotel.

DAY 2 : MARRAKECH – TIZI N’TICHKA - OUARZAZATE - SKOURA – DADES GORGES:

We will drive across the Tizi n'Tichka pass and explore the Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, where we will see the famed Kasbah, which has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site and has appeared in films such as The Gladiator, Babel, and Lawrence of Arabia. After lunch, we will visit the town of Ouarzazate, the Kasbah of Taourirt, and the Atlas Studios, Africa's largest and most famous movie studios. Then we go to Skoura and see the famed Valley of Roses and the Dades Valley before returning to our hotel for dinner.

DAY 3: DADES GORGES  – TINGHIR – TOUDRA GORGES - ERFOUD – MERZOUGA:

After breakfast, you can take a walk through the Dades Gorges before driving the road of the 1000 Kasbas, passing through Tineghier village and the Jewish Kasbah, arriving in the Todra Gorges in time for lunch, and then taking the road to the Merzouga desert via Erfoud and Rissani, arriving before sunset. Diner and stay in a lovely Kasbah "hotel" at the foot of the Erg Chebbi dunes with Saharan drums. Nomade Palace Camp. Dinner and overnight in a private camp / tent.

DAY 4 : MERZOUGA - MIDELT - AZROU - IFRANE – FES:

We can get up early, go through the sand dunes, and see the dawn from just behind the Algerian border, around 50 kilometers from Merzouga. We ride the camel back to the hotel. You will take a shower and breakfast before departing for Fes. We will pass through Rissani and Ziz valleys, stopping for lunch in Medit apple village. We will continue the journey by crossing the Middle Atlas mountains and cedars forest, passing IFRANE, a winter ski resort built by the French in the 1930's to resemble a Swiss village. We will arrive in Fes in the early evening for dinner and overnight.

DAY 5 : FES SIGHTSEEING TOURS:

Today we resume our 7-day Sahara Tour from Marrakech with a guided tour of the medina, one of the world's largest walled cities. You will walk through narrow streets lined with fresh fruit, heaps of spices, elaborately woven Berber rugs, and many other Moroccan art pieces. You will visit Mosques such as the Quaraouiyine Mosque, the Nejjarine Fountain,Medersas (Koranic schools) founded as early as the 13th century,Batha Palace now a museum of arts and traditions,Chouwara Tanneries,Souks such as Souk Attarine, one of the city's liveliest, Bab Boujloud with its green and blue ceramics,Mellah and the 17th century Ibn Danan Overnight stay in a hotel.

DAY 6 : FES - OUZOUD - MARRAKECH

After breakfast, we continue our 1 week private Morocco tour from Marrakech, traveling from Fes to Ouzoud waterfalls before returning to Marrakech for an overnight stay in a riad or hotel.

DAY 7 : MARRAKECH SIGHTSEEING TOUR WITH LOCAL GUIDE

Today will be spent sightseeing in Marrakech, Morocco's second-oldest imperial city, also known as the "Pearl of the South" and home to the Saadian tombs, the Koutoubia Mosque, the Bahia Palace, and the Menara Garden. We'll go back to the hotel for lunch. In the afternoon, we'll visit the souks and the world-famous Djemaa El Fna, which features a variety of entertainment, including storytellers, acrobats, snake-charmers, and magicians.
